I’ve been working on the web since 1995 when I made my first web page. I remember it well – I was in the Air Force then and used my Sun SPARCstation 5. I had links to my favorite bands, Smashing Pumpkins and The Sisters of Mercy. The rest was just testing out different html tags.
In the late 90s people started blogging and in the early 2000s it really took off. It’s now 2013 and I finally decided to join in on the fun. I guess I’m a late bloomer. The funny thing is I can remember three different times in the past 13 years or so that I’ve thought “Hmm, I may be behind the times but I should just start now finally.” But then I didn’t. So, now I finally am.
I looked around at themes, found one I liked for the most part and then made a few changes to it. I like that it shows the image as the background and plan to add a button to hide everything so you can see the image.
In the future I’ll try to use a current photo, preferably something from that day as I plan(hope) to post daily. This post’s photo was taken at the Burchfield Penney at their Second Fridays debut. I went out of my way to check it out because one of my favorite local bands played, Son of the Sun.
